Gotta get with it

Here is a picture of the beautiful ocean in the Bahamas for those of us that are missing summer =)

So here is my problem. I eat a healthy breakfast and lunch, but when I get home from work or out of class I am STARVING and end up blowing the rest of the night. Last night I made peanut butter and jelly on a roll and baked pillsbury simply chocolate chip cookies (they were DELISH, but I really didn't need to eat them) instead of dinner. I did make Jamie a chicken dish with pasta, but my belly was hurting after the cookies so I skipped it.

I was thinking about it and greek yogurt is on sale this week, so I think on my way home from work today I am going to stop and buy some. I will have this as my afternoon snack. I am still learning to like greek yogurt though. I put a half of a splenda in it and am trying to figure out what else to mix into it. For now I will use the Cascadian Farms Vanilla Almond Crunch cereal I have in my cabinet. Hopefully this will help me make it to dinner (which we don't normally have until 8 pm).

The Plan for Today:

Breakfast- 3 egg whites, 1 thin slice of american cheese, on toasted arnold sandwich thin.
2 cups of coffee with splenda and coffeemate

Lunch- Tuna on arnold, honeycrisp apple, water

Snack- Greek yogurt with splenda, 1/4 cup of cereal mixed in, and maybe a piece of fruit

Dinner- Stew Leonards Chicken Sausages (these look great and 90 calories each link), maybe a baked potato, and green beans.

I definitely need to get more fruits and veggies in throughout my day. I love the Amazing Grass Superfood packets. They give me 3 servings of fruits and vegetables and a ton of other nutrients. Right now I only have the meal powder left, so I really need to order the superfood or get the kids one I bought for my nieces that they dislike and use that up.

I also plan to do the elliptical tonight.

Have a great day!

Noon break

During a break, I went to starbucks and got a grande cafe americano and added 2 splenda with a little fat free milk. It was delicious! My coffee this morning wasn't good, so I was glad to get some good coffee :).

Good Morning!

Good Morning! Well I didn't sleep that great, but I am ready for a good week. This morning I am having an Amazing Grass Superfood smoothie. It was my last packet, so I need to order more ASAP! I used my new magic bullet (thanks to my dad) and mixed the packet with water, 1/2 cup of fat free milk and threw in a few ice cubes. I am also having peter pan whipped peanut butter on a toasted arnold sandwich thin and a cup of coffeee. I really want to get pictures up, but unfortunately I didn't plan well enough this morning, so I will have to start pictures later today.

For lunch, I packed tuna (made with dijonaise, lemon juice, salt, pepper, onions, celery, and bread crumbs (that I made with my magic bullet out of a half of slice of bread), arnold sandwich thin, honey crisp apple, clementine, and water.

Alright have a great day all. I will write more about myself and who I am tonight.

First Post

Lately I've been randomly reading other people's blogs and always want to start my own. I have been exploring and trying to figure out how to start one... so here I am. I am constantly trying to find my balance in life, hence the title of my blog. I wake up every morning with the intention of eating healthy, but unfortunately throughout the day I can't always stick to my plan. I am hoping that by starting this blog it will allow me to be accountable for what I eat. It will always be my own personal food, exercise, & life journal.

This weekend being halloween weekend was horrible food wise. I even feel sluggish tonight after eating terrible food. I already have my lunch packed for tomorrow and am ready for a healthy monday =)

I will write more, but I am just sorting through all of this and figuring it out. =) More to come.
